ORANGE COUNTY CHAPTER CHARITIES – AWARDS

Each year Orange County Chapter Charities will present four (4) awards for your consideration. Below you will find each of the awards to be presented along with the qualifications each recipient must possess to receive these awards. Please keep in mind that the person, or in some cases, the organization that you submit as award candidates must actually possess all of the requirements and must have distinguished themselves in furthering the goals of our Bishop with Camp ReCreation and the Day of Sharing.

BISHOP WILLIAM R. JOHNSON AWARD

This award recognizes a member of the Knight of Columbus who has shown great interest, effort, work and has made contributions of various kinds in the promotion, support and development of the projects of the Knights of Columbus Chapter Charities Program in a significant manner.

WALT McDONALD AWARD

This award recognizes a Council of the Orange County Chapter that has distinguished itself in Charity work. It must have made various contributions in developing and furthering the Knights of Columbus Chapter Charities Programs through work, effort, and contributions, achieving significant results through these efforts.

VIC KATCHER AWARD

This award recognizes an organization, institution, or a program of a Council in the Orange County Chapter that has contributed to Orange County Chapter Charities projects in a significant way. Membership in the Knights of Columbus is not required.

LOU PIAZZA AWARD

This award recognizes a nonmember of the Knights of Columbus, an event, or situation not recognized by the other awards that has contributed to the Orange County Chapter Charities projects.

If you know of a person or organization that meets the requirements of any of these awards, please submit their name and a brief description stating their qualifications and why you believe they should be considered for the award. These awards are presented to deserving people who earned the right of consideration. Nominations for all awards must be submitted NOT LATER THAN APRIL 1.

Please remember that ONLY DIRECTORS of the ORANGE COUNTY CHAPTER CHARITIES, INC. or the GRAND KNIGHT of the Council may submit and sign a nomination for these awards. Nominations not received by the due date will not be considered for an award.
